PACS is used for hospital imaging departments, initially mainly
used for radiology, after the development of the past few years,
PACS has expanded from a few simple radiographic image storage
devices and communications to all the hospital imaging equipment as
well as interoperating images in different hospitals, resulting in
a number of classified terms, such as the network of several
radiation devices is known as the Mini PACS; network of all imaging
equipment in radiology is called Radiology PACS; and the overall
hospital PACS to achieve a full-hospital sharing of resources, is
known as the Hospital PACS
